Really enjoying this work lately. I receive it in email and I’ve learned that I like best to hold off for about a dozen photos and then look at the last dozen or so all at once. It’s like seeing a show, and also the ebb and flow of the work towards things and away from other things. There’s been a kind of back-to-basics streak of late and maybe you find you’re more comfortable than ever in returning to some of these subjects.
Thanks JF. I always appreciate your thoughts. Yes, I circle back to the basics pretty regularly. Double exposures and fractures are worth exploring to me, other different effects not so much, but basic, straight photos are my home base, my starting point. To me it’s the most truthful. Not “the Truth” but truthful. Honest. Real. I like experimenting, but I always seem to come back to the basics. Maybe it’s a comfort zone, maybe it’s my true voice. I don’t know.
