finding shade

There’s not much shade in the midday sun out here in the desert. You find what you can. The canopy on this abandoned gas station seems to work pretty well.

  1. Looks like 119º in Blythe today, the closest reporting station I found to you. That’s certainly bordering on shade-worthy. Only 94º here today, still cool enough of a short bike ride. Maybe. Hey, at least it’s a dry heat.

    1. Getting warm alright. We’re only gonna top out at about 110° here. Shade and water are your best friends. And electrolytes. Still dry so far, but that can change when monsoon season starts. Even here the humidity can climb to 80-90%. That’s when you start to doubt your own sanity.
